premium native ebook apps framework for iPhone and iPad
Created for self publishing authors and publishing houses
TouchBooksReader is a commercial framework developed by Cognitive Bits Software for assisting with the creation of iOS ebook and ebook collection apps.
It was started in 2008 and has been continuously improved ever since, for power, flexibility, ease of use by non-programmers, social sharing and more.
Currently TouchBooksReader powers tens of best selling Apple-featured ebook apps which total hundreds of thousands of downloads and comparable numbers in revenue.
Use TouchBooksReader to create standalone ebook or ebook collection universal apps(compatible with all your iDevices and most iOS versions). Step-by-step tutorials provided, no coding skills required!
Download our SDK and rename the demo project
Plug in your formatted content and artwork
Build, test and upload your book app to the AppStore.
You can try your ebook app on the iPhone Simulator and tune it without paying a single cent. You'll only pay us for a license when you're ready to deploy the app on a real device and/or submit it to the AppStore!
If your app doesn't get approved to the AppStore because of framework-related issues(that is, the rejection isn't related to your book content), we'll give you a full refund! (PS. refund doesn't apply to breaches of Apple Review Guidelines, including paragraph 2.21)
Your content will have to be split by chapters in separate HTML files. For full compatibility and best results, the files will need to use a CSS stylesheet based on (or extending) the TouchBooksReader one, along with a few extra markup.
In addition to this, we'll teach you how to generate an awesome Table of Contents and, in the case of multi-book collections, a gorgeous looking Book list shelf.
You don't need a team of developers to put your book on the AppStore.
No coding skills needed means you'll save thousands of $$$, using a flexible ready-made code instead of hiring a developer to create an app for you.
You only need a Mac running Lion or Snow Leopard, a recent version of the iOS development kit and a Apple iOS developer account(to be able to distribute and sell your app to the AppStore).
Soon available in your ebook development kit we'll include step-by-step tutorials, links and instructions on creating a Apple iOS developer account, setting up your work environment (XCode sdk, certificates, etc), and off course creating your books.
With TouchBooksReader, you'll be the owner of your app. Since it's your Apple Developer Account, you'll be able to sell it for whatever price you chose, and keep all the revenue. No revenue share due.
Ads on demandWith just a setting, you'll enable Google AdMob integration. You can distribute your app for free and still make money from top Google-powered advertising.
In-App PurchaseEasily enable in-app purchase to unlock included content. You can have locked chapters or even books that can be unlocked by paying premium, extra premium content as future updates, etc. (you'll still need to set up in-app-purchases for the app inside the iTunesConnect portal, but we'll teach you how).
Here are just a few of the awesome features that your users will love!

If you are only interested in publishing your book for the iPhone or iPad, you can try self-publishing on iBookstore (read more here). It's cost effective and possibly a good enough solution for most. But if you want to have ads or in-app purchases, your branded app with your personal icon and splash screen distributed from your own iOS Developer Account, at whatever price you want, that's something only a native ebook app can give you.
There are very few competing ebook app publishing frameworks out there, and none of them comes even close to our extensive feature set. No autoscrolling, no autobookmarks, no quote selection, no news page, no night reading mode, no search, no in-app purchases, no ads. Also, because of their simplicity, they tend to get rejected by Apple. This is why TouchBooksReader is unique, bringing an unparalleled set of features that keeps on growing.
We won't ask us to pay upfront for something you haven't even tested yet. Instead, you should use our Contact Form to let us know how we can help. We'll take it from there, one step at a time. Your future masterpieces are worth the effort.
